Fleetmaster Express celebrates drivers, invests in appreciation efforts

Roanoke, VA (September 13, 2011) -- While budget cuts and economic woes have forced many carriers to curtail activities during this year’s National Driver Appreciation Week (Sept. 11 - 17), Fleetmaster Express has announced plans to celebrate their drivers’ success.

“We wish to express our gratitude and commend our drivers – and all drivers – on their dedication and professionalism.  Regardless of the challenging economic environment, we must recognize the hard work and effort of our drivers. Without them, we would not be able to give our customers the superior service they deserve.” says Travis Smith, Fleetmaster Express director of OTR operations.

The U. S. depends on trucks to deliver nearly 70 percent of all freight transported annually.  More than 80 percent of U. S. communities depend solely on trucking for delivery of their goods and commodities.  In recognition of that, this year marks the 16th annual celebration of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week and Fleetmaster’s 24th in business. Fleetmaster’s President and CEO, Carl Bumgarner, is honored to participate in a week that celebrates his drivers saying, “Much of our past success is attributable to the high level of professionalism from our drivers. This week we offer our thanks to these men and women for their outstanding safe service and contribution to getting the freight to our nation’s doorstep.”

As part of its appreciation efforts, Fleetmaster is supplying each of its drivers with $40 in gift certificates, a shirt and hat printed with the company logo, and other promotional items.  There will be daily raffles of valuable items purchased by the company as well as items donated by vendors such as tires, navigation units, gift certificates, and cash prizes.
